We, at the CRC, have decided to implement the Pingelly model of Aged Care, which has been created to specifically suit the issues that remote areas, like Boddington, face. We hire local workers to deliver support to local elderly people to help them stay in their own home for as long as possible. It also ensures that funding goes back into the town by keeping most of the money local.

The initial funding comes from the Australian government, through a service called Home Care Packages. You can apply to have an assessment to access one of these packages by calling My Aged Care or applying online. Janine, our care coordinator can help with every step, including the application process.

Cleaning

Cleaning the Table

Sometimes the cleaning of an entire house can get on top of us. It happens to us all. Mable workers are here to alleviate that stress for you so you can enjoy more important things, such as the Men's Shed or Craft class down at the Hub.  

Gardening & Home Maintenence

Gardening

Boddington people love their gardens and we are no different. Let us take the stress of weeding off of your hands so you have more time to do the parts that you actually enjoy. (Buying more plants!)

Personal Care

Taking a Shower

We have local Boddington people who have committed their lives to serving people who need it most. They are ready to help you, or a loved one, safely shower, dress and/or take medication. We are committed to keeping you safe in your own home.

Mobility & Aids

Wheelchair Access

The Home Care Package allows certain funds to be spent on mobility aids. We have already arranged for electric wheelchairs, scooters and walkers to go to some of our clients. It is all referred by an appointment with our OT, so you know you are getting the equipment that is specifically suited for you.

Home Alterations

Plumber Fixing Sink

Do you feel unsteady in the shower? Having trouble getting off the loo/out of bed independently? We can help with that! With an OT appointment (paid by the HCP), they will recommend specific tools to help you get around more independently. Grab rails, sensor lights in the hallways or a bed trapeze, anything is possible to help keep you in your own home for longer.

All care co-ordinators and Mable workers live in Boddington and understand Boddington issues, especially those dreaded travel fees. We get that there isn't a whole lot of services here and that's why we brought the services to you! We know that this is helping people, and we believe in what we are doing. It is a pleasure to be able to bring people together in a way that is mutually beneficial.
